Would like to know what every is using for hardware to
host their websites? What you have from coming in to your network and down to server? Ex.... Internet connection, Firewall, Hub, Router, and server. Maybe even include how many sites you host too.

If you can even include any software that you may use other then then Windows OS, IIS, and/or Exchange.

Just tryin to see if I need to upgrade and/or get a better idea of how I should setup.

Thanks,

Currently, we are using a P3 500 with 1 GB RAM. Full T-1 connection and our storage is in a RAID 5 config. Our software is Windows NT 4.0, IIS, and Cold Fusion 4.5. We route the mail through a separate Exchange Server (5.5) also running on a Win NT 4.0 box (P3 450 with 1 GB RAM). With this configuration, we house 7 commerce sites and provide pages to 3 dozen or so other sites. Due to issues with our database (Access 2000), we are upgrading our configuration. Not sure how we will eventually end up, but we have 3 Dell Poweredge servers with 1.8 Xeons that we plan to cluster with Win 2K Advance Server and IIS 5.0. I am trying to get SQL Server or other RDBMS in hear to take care of the backend. We looked at Linux with Apache, but I would have been the only one on the team comfortable with it, and that makes the man that signs the checks uncomfortable. :)

Best Regards,

matth
