What is DUS file? 1

Just noticed in My Documents a file called DPE.DUS (DUS File). Clicked on it to open in WordPad but got nothing but gibberish. Does anyone know what this means, etc.?

This file may mysteriously appear your "My Documents" folder or some
other random place such as your Desktop.


One person has managed to fix anomaly this by uninstalling and
re-installing the HP printer. It may also be related to the scanner
or OCR software that came with the HP printer. Please see:

I have seen many posts here regarding this file. I couldn't find one
that was current enough to respond directly to so I hope this approach

Thanks pechenegs for your prompt response! I had installed another printer several weeks ago-- an HP PSC 3-in-1 -- and was trying to learning the scanning feature this afternoon. Guess that's when the item found its way into "My Documents." Believe I'll just delete it. What do you think?

It's up to you, you can always make a copy of it before deleting it,then when deleted see if you can solve your problem. Or as that post I found suggested uninstall and reinstall your printer!?
