Ok so is comm server 1000 and Succession the same? I know both are both VOIP

Yes, but to keep things straight. Succession and the CS1000 do BOTH VoIP and TDM. Many folks think the Succession is a VoIP only solution.

Some platforms will expand further on one side of the fence or the other, but they all have the capability of providing standard "Meridian TDM' functionality as well as VoIP services.
