I setup NT 40 and installed the printer an epson stylus 600 everything was working fine for a week or so now today my enduser says he can't print. I looked and no printers are installed. When I try to install the printer it says "Operation could not be completed, the RPC server is unavailable" What is going on here??? Please help...
Thanks in advance...

I have a few thoughts and maybe a few solutions.

1. This problem can occur if the comment field for a shared printer contains more than 256 characters, including 2 characters for each new line.

Try this:

To allow the system to properly share a logical printer, make sure that the printer Comment field does not have more than 256 characters total. If it does, change it.

2. This problem occurs because the spooler loses track of table entries assigned to each thread when the thread count goes above forty.

Try this:

Since this is usually a problem with Windows 3.51, it might not be a problem, but updating the Service Pack can help.

3.The remote DNS Server whose name or IP address is chosen from DNS Manager is not yet started.

Try this:

Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools (Common), and then click Server Manager.
In the server list in Server Manager, click the DNS server that you are trying to administer. Click server and then select Services. Select the Microsoft DNS Server and click start to start the service. Close the Service Manager.

If none of that works, I'll try and figure out something.
