Stub is anther term for LAN AKA "Local Area network"
Globally unique addresses are destinations for an inside and outside interface in a NAT "network Address Translation" design scheme. Route once; switch many
A stub area is any OSPF network that has a single way in/out. While LANs can have multiple gateways as can WANs. a stub network will have a single default gateway, normally a default route of 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 <next hop> and no need for any routing updates.
A stub network is a network that moves data only among local hosts. Even if the local hosts are connected to more than one other network, these hosts do not carry traffic between these other networks.
As you can see just using the word *stub* is not enough.. you need to specify what kind of stub are you asking about and in what context.
Stub more than anything else in the ospf/routing context means that you are not receiving lsa's from extra-area
sources.
If this is not correct for your situation you will need to post a config for someone to recommend changes.
