What do I need to restore to rebuild Exchange 2k3?

I'm doing a test disaster recovery for Exchange 2003, I have built a test AD domain from backup and built a test Exchange 2003 server using the /disasterrecovery switch. To my surprise Exchange 2003 had everything populated, does it get this from AD? The only thing missing was the Databases. What do I need to restore to get this all up and running so I can mount the public and private stores at the end?
