Hi everyone....

I've currently running a query on a table with 100,000 lines of code and it's taking over 24 hours!

I'm using MS Access as a front end connected to SQL Server in the background. I didn't build the query, and don't understand it yet, so am not looking at modifying it right now so I was wondering what the options were in relation to increasing the block size etc.

I'm new to SQL Server so if you could tell me how to do the things you suggest I'd be really grateful!

Many thanks

Mike

At a guess, I'd say you'll probably get a better performance increase by seeing if the query can be improved, which to me would logically be the first step before looking at memory usage. Why not post the query in another thread to see if there are any tips people can give you, and then revisit this one at a later date, when and if necessary?
