well, in school we already have Dutch, English, German and French at least 2 years mandatory and as I'd go on vacation to both Germany and France about twice a year, I managed to keep them up (well..reasonably).

I've travelled through Mid and South America for about a year and you're pretty much forced to learn Spanish to get anything done there and my wife is Brasilian, so that's how I got Portuguese on the list.
