What video card are you using, what resolution, and what refresh rate? Try it at 1024x768 resolution and 75HZ, High Color. pbxman

If you boot up the system in SAFE mode, the basic VGA "dumb" driver will be installed. Then see if the problem remains. If so, chances are it is a hardware problem (monitor or video card). If the problem does not remain, then I suggest there is a driver (or other controlling video software) that is causing the problem.

When my monitor began to flicker on a random basis, it was the beginning of the end (of my monitor). Within a few hours it died completely and I had to buy a new monitor.

Most unfortunate but I'm sure if the monitor knew you were just regular French gal it would have been more compassionate, or at least it should have been!!

Thank You All..but especially WindowWizard who helped me solved my aggravating problem..it was indeed my video card.MERCI BEAUCOUP !! Angel [2thumbsup] [2thumbsup] [2thumbsup]

Yes, WindowWizard has delivered an absolute gem. It's one of the great Windows axioms.
