We have pair of s8710 in one site and pair of ess in another. All firmwares and patches are the latest. All ping responses are coming out fine but when customer pings from their cisco router we get packet loss only to the IPSIs. In short, if he logs on to the cisco switch in either location and pings the IPSIs locally on that switch, he gets 50% packet loss. However, if he pings from a pc in any network, there are no issues. Is this one of those Cisco V Avaya ( i don't want to know anything about you and will make your life hell ) issues.

I had exactly the same issue, although everything works fine. We could not find an explanation for this yet.

This is normal, Avaya built this in so the IPSI's do not respond to every braodcast message from the routers. I think Medpro's only respond to every 4 pings from the routers. If you ping from any other device it will ping normally. I did read this somewhere, can not locate it at the moment thought.

Am not sure though but are the ports on the IPSI locked to 100/ Full? Most of the times, we face the problems when the port on IPSI is left at Auto-negotiate & the response is intermittent..
