I can't see any thing on my monitor screen, but I can hear the hard drive turning and I see all the lignts such as CD-ROM, Floppy etc. I put a know working video card and still nothing. The hard drive boots fine in another system. The motherboard is not dead because the CPU fan gets power from the board and it works fine like every thing else. So why this system that was working for a very long time just stop showing any thing on the monitor. Oh, the monitor works fine on another system too. Help any one!

Did this just happen? Did you replace the video card or motherboard? I'm having a similar problem, but I've just replaced the motherboard and CPU.

This just starts, but it happen on another Tyan board 9 months ago that is when I switched to this board and it works for 3 months then the same problem returns.

A friend told she had the same problem and toss the computer aside then 3 months later she power up and it works fine.

You don't say whether or not you get any beep codes. I'd suggest stripping the machine to bare bones by taking out any non-essential cards. Unplug any extra devices and power up. While you're unplugging things, reseat the dimm and swap 'em around (if you have more than one). Try the dimm in another machine if you can. If you still have no video, no post... cpu / ps and mb become the possible choices. Try a different power supply ( just because you have 12v fans going, doesn't mean you dont' have a power issue). CPU would be the next shot and then motherboard. Good luck.

No beeps, so I guess it's CPU problem/memory. Will test them tonight.

Have you tried another PSU?

reseating the PCI cards, IDE cables, Power connectors, and MEM, should be done...

a working PC that goes dead all of a sudden usually means PowerSupplyUnit issue, either its gone or going, or not enough juice...

the other possibilities are usually, dust on the HS fan and bad connections, be it PCI, AGP, or Power...
