I have a number of routines using 'fso'. MS Scripting Run Time Library is in references, yet I get an error (suddenly today) saying the reference isn't registered. Aany help / advice appreciated. Only going a lot nuts!!!

Check for missing references - could be a different DLL gone awol.

Try unselecting then reselcting all references.

Try creating a new db, adding the reference and running the code - if this works the DB may be corrupt, but you can usually import all the object, reset the startup and referecnes.

thanks ... but ...

The references is listed (properly) both before and after the. Missing / Broken is NOT the issue. It says NOT REGISTERED.

In a console window type the following:
regsvr32 scrrun.dll

Hope This Helps, PH.

Mate, I have had this after installing an app that i didn't realise used a previous version of JET. The scallywags that provided the app had obviously checked the option on the setup wizard that says "overwrite existing dll with this version".

I had to remove and reinstall ms access cos the repair option seems to have equal worth of used dunny paper...

Not that I'm bitter to silly software disributors or MS of course, we all make mistakes. Mine was to install crap software that appeared professional!

Agree this may not help you, but it may help some dude in future with similar error. Good luck!

Thanks to all. PHV seems to have had the necessary soloution. Sorry for the late reply, I was involven in a bad aout accident Friday morning on the way to work, and am just getting back.

Still have NO idea of how / why the "De-Regestration. The db in question has been running rather smoothly since march (or so) of this year, and I haven't made any major changes (to the machine set up or the db in question) in the last month or so.

Machael,
Possibly a Windows Update torpedo? I've seen W.U. replace .dlls with same-name/different-version files, and that may render the registry entry for the orignal version invalid.
