Hi everyone out there,

I cannot compact or repair a database which has a size of 150 MB. It gives an error message saying that a user is exclusively using the database and the workstation stated is the one which I used to compact and repair the database. Sounds weird to me because if I am not logged on, how can I do any compaction or repair?

It will be wonderful if anyone has an answer to the weird problem I have at hand. Thank you very much.

Regards
Joshua

Sounds like corruption. Open up a new database and try and import everything from the 'funny-acting' database and see what happens. Then try to compact the new database and see what happens.

If it works, then just use the new file. If it doesn't, then see the FAQ below for troubleshooting tips.

This may be a stupid question, but are you opening the database exclusively to compact? If you don't, you get the message you described.
