Is anyone using a Webshield e3200 appliance yet and if so what choice should be made for reverse lookups....to check or not to the box allowing them?
Thanks

Bentley45,

If you check (enable) reverse lookups, the appliance is going to attempt to perform a reverse DNS lookup on the domain or host that the connection originated from.
This is typically used in SMTP environments when you want to reduce SPAM. This ensures that no messages are fully processed or delivered unless a reverse lookup can be performed on the source domain or host.

The down side to this is that a reverse lookup must be available for any messages that you would like to process.
