I have setup a 2003 webserver and all works fine. I have also setup individual email accounts that also work. I am wanting to implement a webmail based solution to access email instead of just using POP3. Has anyone had any experience with a good webmail software that will integrate with the 2003 standard mail services? Thanks for your help.

Do you mean that you are hosting your e-mail in-house or that you are utilising an external mail host??

If you are using mail hosted by a 3rd party then you can only use whatever webmail software they utilise..

If you are hosting your e-mail in-house there is a fair chance that you are using MS Exchange. If so, exchange has 'Outlook Web Access' (OWA) which is the webmail based solution for your users when they are out of the office etc..

fdoty,

There are 3rd party solutions to do what you are asking, such as SmarterMail, however I would recommend that you use a more robust solution and install Microsoft Exchange which would give you webmail, POP, IMAP and of course Exchange mail & Outlook Over HTTP.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

I am familiar with Exchange but it is very expensive for my needs. We basically host web sites for our clients and it's a 1and1 Windows server. The 1and1 mail servers will not let you use a different MX server so we can implement a good spam/virus filter. Sooo, they do have an interface to manage email on the server. The problem is the webmail interface they have doesn't work with it and none of my clients would be able to access email from a web browser.
