Webi Universe Problem 1

When I try to create a new report based on a universes I get an error message when opening the Java Report panel which says:

The WebIntelligence Java Report Panel cannot connect to the server. Close the report panel and try to connect again or see your BusinessObjects administrator. (Error: WIJ 20002)

However, when I open an existing document based on the same universe the Java Report panel opens up with no problems.

Anyone have any ideas what is causing this.

This is usually caused by a "locked" universe on the server. But when we get this, we usually can't open it at all.

I would suggest finding the universe on the server and deleting it.

The solution is for the Error WIJ20002. That there is a JAVA version installend on your PC. Java 1.5.

Remove this version, and the problem is solved.

I can confirm this as well. 1.5 works sometimes, but not always with 6.5.

Thanks both for your posts - Star to Steve - it was a locked universe on the servers - deleted them off the servers and when I next used the Java report panel it repopulated the server with the repository version of the universe and opened in the Java report panel with no problem.
