WebEx Remote Control

I was introduced to a remote control program called WebEx

anyone had any experience?

Its a remote control program that works using HTTP (the legit version also required HTTPS) does any one have any clue how to prevent this sort of app? I've not been as worried about anything since I found HTTP-Tunnel.

With out packet inspection what can be done as I can't block Port 80 nor 443 any one? As an admin its probably the best tool I've ever seen for remote site support in terms of simplicity but if I put my Security Hat on as Penelopy Pitstop said "HeeeellllllPpppp"!

Why not just block the Webex site at your firewall?

My concern is more to do with the principle of Webex, yes I block the website but what about the next one or the next one? This is always going to be after the event protection like you virus protection I try to be proactive in these things.

It's not really going to take a genius to disasemble the code and start using it malisiously. All you need to do is install this app with an answer file and bobs your uncle your pc is there's.

As we see with spyware, adware and the like it's incredibly easy to get software installed on PC's without the user's knowledge.

So I guess my question is how do I block this sort of traffic?

As Webex uses an ActiveX control, why not simply disable this in your users' browsers?

There are many remote-presentation services besides WebEx. We use one called Placeware.
