Hi,

I have Genius webcam, i tried to install webcam's application while it was already plugged into USB. After installation when i started the cam's application, system hanged, i un-installed it and installed it again properly, but again no joy, even i have restored my windows xp to an earlier restore point. But still i am getting the same thing, fyi cam was working fine on the same system before new installtion of XP. Any idea to resolve this issue would be highly appriciated.

Regards,
Tayyab

If the webcam was produced before Windows XP came out, it may be that the application software doesn't work with XP too well

You could try the old trick of trying to find some updated software that is tried and tested with XP

Other than that some sort of third party software would probably do the trick

Hi

Just thinking, what may help would be to post the model of your web cam and then it may lead to a source where the correct application can be downloaded

Just googling I found a site that offers an application for Genius VideoCAM Express, that is an updated driver that works with XP

Of course you will need to verify what Webcam model you have

Cheers

Jamie

Hi Jamie,

TY for reply.
Cam model: Genius VideoCAM NB

FYI cam was working fine before on WinXP, i have reinstalled winXP after that it didn't work. I think reason is only that i have tried to install application while cam was plugged in via USB. Any idae to rollback this thing.?

Thanks again.
