I've just set up Sharepoint in our infrastructure and have 10 pilot users using it.

I've had a problem with one of the users - he created his My Site and added a custom web part (MSD2D RSS Feeder) - the moment that was added the site appears to have 'broken' - he can't add or remove any web parts, or edit the page and the bottom right says 'error on page'.

Is there any way to delete his My Site instance and create a new one, or some sneaky way to get rid of that web part?

Hello,

Can the user do the following:

1. Click on site settings
2. Customize Homepage and see if it opens up so that you can chose to delete the faulty webpart.

If the above did not help, try this and see if it helps:

1. On the "broken" My Site, click site settings.
2. Click Go to site administration
3. Click Manage Webpart gallery
4. Click edit on the webpart that is failing.
5. Once you are in the edit view you can chose to delete the webpart.

This is what it says under Webpart gallery "Use these links to manage the set of Web Parts, list templates, and site templates available to this site and all sites underneath it." As I understand it it will only remove the webpart for this My Site, but not 100% sure of this. Also not sure if the webpart will be deleted from the "main" page of the My site.

If the above does not work and you want to delete the site do the following:

1. Click on site settings
2. Go To Site Administration
3. Delete this site

Regards,
Thomas
