Do you guys think DW is good even for novice users? I have users, who are quite computer illiterate and needs simple to use web page editor to update the web page content.

Some time ago, I introduced and bought DW for them and did send them to DW course as well. After like 6 mths, they feedback to me saying it is difficult to use! They complained things like alignment, it being not WYSIWYG, some many buttons around...

I was wondering if I should change to Frontpage? Do you guys think it would it be an easier tool for them to use?

If you have a central webmaster using Dreamweaver, Macromedia now has a product called Contribute 2. It makes distributed web-authoring a snap. The webmaster can deligate levels of access, what they can edit, etc... It's an extremeliy simplified version of Dreamweaver with less functionality, but it has enough power to do basic content authoring. I'd suggest looking into that.

Good luck :).

Take Care,
Mike

"it is difficult to use"
...then tell them to use notepad ...very easy interface....

LOL...well...u know...there is NO such a thing as a 100% WYSIWYG editor
or else empolyers would be posting jobs such as "Looking for a keyboard+mouse expernice"

"Looking for a keyboard+mouse expernice"

haha... I guess we should all blame Bill Gates for his Microsoft Word and Excel for been so easy to use!

Non-technical users seems to always use them as comparison. It is a lucky thing that there are no such web tools, otherwise we programmers are going to be out of job!

Thx, Mike for your suggestion! I am currently trying the software myself.

"I have users, who are quite computer illiterate and needs simple to use web page editor to update the web page content."

-- on a serious note:
depends on your "content" and how much time u have to develop this.
IF ur talking only "text update" or "journal-like" where user basically provides just the text:
then the easier ways would be to have them type the simple_plain.txt and u can use ISS to pull it and poluate your <tables> or <divs>

IF this needs to be more of a "rich text" or a "news-like" format with different fonts and paragrpahs and images etc. then consider
-down below in "public area" secion and well as the right hand side links to JS and PHP editors....spend some browsing time
the even have an extention that comes along....

but if u care less to devlop this yourself then conside Contribute as mentioned

All the best!
