Hi

Please can someone recommend a good value, or free web graphics tool, one that has a few more functions than basic MS Paint, where you can manipulate/edit images easily? I know of Paint Shop Pro. Does anyone have experience of this and know of a website where an older version is available that is free such as version 7, as I have heard this version is free to download but have not found a website yet that has it available, only websites with the latest versions that cost a fair amount of money.

Thank you for any help.

This really has nothing to do with PHP. Please find a different forum.

gimp.org

available for Windows/Mac/*nix

See the HTML/Web design forum for more ideas. --but you cannot do better than GIMP for free.

Why is everyone in this forum responding to me as picklefish?

I didn't expect a reply quite like that. I'm doing a website in PHP and need a web graphics tool that integrates well with PHP.

Thanks Picklefish for your reply. Cheers I'll check out GIMP and the other forum for more info.

Thanks

I still believe the fact that you are developing a website in PHP is mere circumstancial and therefore this forum is not the appropriate place for this question.

All Web graphics tools integrate well with PHP. PHP has really not much to do with the graphics used on a site - even if PHP outputs the code that makes the web server deliver graphics.

GIMP for free is the cheapest way. However, there are very powerful graphics tools out there - they are not free, but some allow you a 30-day trial. Have a look at Macromedia's Fireworks. Also, if you are planning on doing more with graphics over time a commercial product may be warranted.

Hi

Ok thanks DRJ478. I will check out Macromedia and have a search for a good value tool.

Thanks for your reply.
