Web Database Emails

I have an online member directory that is fed by an access 2002 database which resides on a web server. All the data is displayed correctly. However when a user clicks on an email address and the email client is launched single quotes are appended to the beginning and end of the email address. Some users are telling me they get a "protocol" error, but I can't replicate the problem on my machine.

Does anyone have any ideas??? Thanks in advance.
 
One of the problems I found was that my users' have different versions of Windows. Consequently, the older ones had CDONTS installed and the newer ones had CDO installed. So, I ran a procedure, server side, that actually performed the email using CDONTS (since our server is NT 4.0). I'm not saying that this is necessarilly the same problem you're having but...
