Hi all,
I'm not an expert on this type of thing but I'm wondering if this is possible and/or already being done.

I have a few clients, (very small businesses), who want to be able to manage web-browsing by their staff. Obviously one option is to install a proxy server on site and route all web traffic through it and control it frmo there.

What I was wondering was whether it would be feasible to use a web-based proxy server, and route all web-requests through it. You could then potentially have a standard set of rules for controlling content, and customize it depending on the specific needs of the client. I'm not sure what changes would be required at the client end to route out to an external ip, (or if that's possible).

Does any of this make sense or am I talking through my rear end??? If anyone knows if this is possible or can see reasons why it's not I'd appreciate the feedback,

cheers
tony

i think i'm catching what your throwing.

i just installed ISA 2k4 and i'm doing something similar with remote sites, all going through a central Proxy... it works if you close up port 80 and then setup proxy on port 8080, this makes it impossible for users to not connect through the proxy to connect to the web and you just need to enter the proxy ip and port # in the config settings... only problem is , i dont know how to automate that just yet.
