Web based activity monitor?

Use NOM (NetBackup Operations Manager)!
This is the web reporting tool that is included in NetBackup 6.0, it replaces the add on product Advanced Reporter. It can only be hosted on a Windows or Solaris Server at this time and can only be viewed with Internet Exploder. It uses some activeX for communication with the browser.
You can use it to monitor the backups in real time. You can also schedule numerous reports to run at certain times or intervals.
It has its own separate Sybase DB.
Also, you can try installing the Java Monitor (activity monitor) software on the PCs and point it the Master Server, login and you have activity monitor and everything else in the GUI. I have this on my laptop, works great with VPN also. If you want to restrict access to functions in the GUI you can modify the auth.conf file on the Master to only give access to the users the sections of the GUI you enable for them, details are in the admin guides.
