Hi all,

I'm using Outlook 2000 to access my email. I have few external email POPs account and would like to download them to local harddisk. The problem is I could not do it as our organisation has the firewall to block the POP port.

Is there any way that I can configure in Outlook 2000 to access the POP server through port 80 (the port used to access Internet) which the firewall does not block?

Thanks.

You can reconfigure Outlook to use any port you wish for POP3, but you will need the mail server at the other end to also have its port redefined from 110 to 80.

F1lby,

Thanks for the reply. By the way, I'm using Exchange Server 5.5 with Service Pack v3.0 on the mail server.

Currently, the email server is configured as an POP3 server and STMP for a particular domain i.e @abc.com.my.

How do I redefined the port 110 to 80 at the Exchange Server without affecting the existing POP3/SMTP?

Thanks.

Hello all, is there anyone out there have any ideas on how how to re-define the port in the outlook or is it impossible to do that in windows environment?

In need of help...cheers

In Outlook Express

Do: Tools, Accounts, Mail.

Then choose your internet account, and select the Advanced Tab - in here you can change the port numbers for SMTP and POP3
