I apologize if I'm missing something obvious, but I'm a new user to this client's ARCSERVE 2000 tape backup software, and this feature is eluding me.

Is there a way, after selecting the files to be backed up, to obtain an estimate of the number of MB to be backed up?

Use the Count job with the source selected...

Thanks for that info... that will be helpful, but I've got to ask this...

Can I not run the Count job on a backup I've already defined? It appears that whenever I choose the Count job, it "starts over" with blank selections...

Best you can do is use the file estimate that is part of the backup itself. But if you want something prior to the job then Count is it.
