WARNING - VM Embedded Announcements on 7.0(23) not running

Just checked: HGs announcements using the embedded vmail on 7.0(23) are not running. The issue is that just the 1st message is released, then no music (or tone) and no 2nd message.
Loaded the same config on the 7.0(12): everything worked fine.
Now I am loading the 7.0(23) again to log.

This is a bug a few of us have seen now, not sure how many have reported it though, not many I imagine :)

Sip trunks perhaps?
If so then try turning of re-invite.
Warning, your faxing will stop.

Well Andy let's see. Report the bug and do the right thing but potentially get charged for doing so. Or just work around it.

I'll take option B.

I tried and they came back with using NAT twice.
But apparently it is a bug.

Lets see what happens with 8.0 :)

Everyone takes option B Kyle (as would I), that's why the software is more buggy then ever, the sooner Avaya wake up to that the better. Mitel support makes Avaya look bad anyway, you ring and speak to an engineer who will fire up lab kit and replicate/work the issue with you or you can do it online and they call you back, Avaya want money just so they can ignore you for weeks until you pester them, then it's your fault anyway :)

Avaya software is not buggy
a quick check of Clear Quest will show that they have very few open faults :)

I take Option B too, I have don't have the time to mess around documenting bugs that really shouldn't have been introduced in the field anyways. I need fully working system from my customers from day 1 with no weird bugs introduced from an update.

The last 2 Rel 7 updates (7.0.12 and 7.0.23) have cost me time and money for new installs. 7.0.12 had the recording cut off for all greetings and messages left via voicemail pro, and 7.0.23 has the announcements broken for embedded. Rolling back to previous version fixed the issue immediately.

Come on Avaya, I'm back to having no faith in maintenance updates anymore.

qtelcom, do you use SIP?

We have the same issue on all 7.0 releases when we use our sip trunks.

I reported 15 issues about the 7.xx to the Tier III and I have never been charged (till now....), but it is true that the escalating process is scaring.
Additionally, the are focusing the Field Trials on GAs only, I have nomore seen FT about MRs.
Now it seems that with the R8 FT they take things more complicated but more seriously (I mean, I hope so...)

Its good to know I'm not the only one having these buggy issues with 7.0. Simple things just don't work right or if they work, its inconsistent!

Has anyone of you a CQ number of this problem ?

I can see that you have discussed SIP trunks, but the problem is also on BRI.

I will anyway log this with Avaya, just would like to cut down on some workingdays for the ticket.

The issue appairs not only with SIP but just by calling the HG, even internally.

hibroth, i am very curious about why this issue occurs.
We have it with SIP only because we hardly sell embedded (almost all systems are with VMPro)

CQ124089 - User & Hunt Group Announcements - no disconnection from EVM after playing first announcement .wav clip

A fix for this issue has been targeted for inclusion in the 7.0 4Q11

This fix is being tested today by some in my company. I think soon to be released? There were a bunch of issues that are supposed to be fixed.

I have to agree with Kyle here, Avaya made the whole troubleshooting process extremely difficult, and yes the IP Office is still full of bugs. It took an avaya engineer more than a week to replicate one simple issue, like Nortel M series phones not displaying caller id number before the call is answered.I have opened numerous cases with Avaya over the last 10 years (since version 1) and while they eventually fixed most of the issues (creating new ones instead, as they've added more features), the whole process was very slow and they made it sound like it's not their fault.
For the embedded voice mail issue, a private built has been released on Oct 13th:7.0.232702.
