Hi,

I am trying to have a warning box that informs a user of certain things once they have logged into Windows 2K. I would to be able to display this text and have an <OK> button to clear it.

Anybody have ideas?

Cheers...

How bout a small VB app that's in the startup menu? If ya let me know what you want to ask the user, I'll try and whip something up for you. Nate Gagne

Hiya,

The message is going to display the policy of use. Not too sure what it will be yet. Is there a way of doing it through the registry?

There is a way to display a message after the CTL-ALT-DEL when the computer starts up. We use it for computer usage policies on every computer in the company.

In the registry go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

There will be two keys you want to modify:

LegalNoticeCaption = The caption of the dialog box that pops up.

LegalNoticeText = This is where you would put your policy.

That should do it. They do not have to be logged in to see this message, but it happens every time they start their computers up.

Let me know if this helped.

Hi,

Cheers for that info, it worked a treat. Is there a way of referencing a file(s) (i.e. *.htm or *.txt) to file the box or is it the case of using a single line of text?

Cheers
