I am migrating about 1500 users from ccmail to Exchange/outlook 2000. I've gotten a copy of the default.prf file, and downloaded the Office 2000 resource kit, but haven't had any luck in permanently killing the preview pane or the dreaded "14" day autoarchive. I only allow 50 meg per user as a mailbox. Any help is appreciated.

To remove the preview pane you can add '/nopreview' to the shortcut.

Or to change in the registry add the '/nopreview' to the key as shown below:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{00020D75-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\Shell\Open\Command] @="\"C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Office\\Office\\OUTLOOK.EXE\" /nopreview"

I've read that this won't work under Outlook XP, but should be fine in 2000.

I've searched using Google for a way to disable the default settings of 'Autoarchive' but without success.
