Created a Autoexec.dot file that only needs to run once. When it is done its task is there a way it can delete itself at end?

Thanks!

Sorry, I do not understand your requirement.
When a .dot file is run it makes a document based on its contents. If you close that document without saving the document is lost. The .dot file is not changed.

If you delete the .dot file, you have lost it forever.

What the problem is: Getting ready for a Corporate Deployment of Office 2003. Word was coming up in Print Preview Mode and management wants Normal View. Created the autoexec.dot template which is loaded as an add-in that changes the view to normal. Once the normal view is established my lead doesn't want the template to continually launch each time Word is launched.

To clear up my technical misunderstanding here is what I precieve what you said. Word is launched the autoexec.dot add-in is executed the view is now Normal. If I were to have it delete itself (if possible) these settings wouldn't even intialize and be saved by the normal.dot when exiting word. Is this correct?

It's easy as recording a macro.. ;-)
Have your boss save the dot in a specific folder, e.g. C:
Just add this to the end of your macro code:
Code:
AddIns("C:\autoexec.dot").Delete

If any of your team get hurt or killed, ...
...this message will delete itself in 5 seconds. ..4...3...2...1...
