Instead of having a memo field appear on my form, I'd like to have a button that would call a popup form allowing the user to enter data into the memo field.

You have described exactly what you should do where is your problem??

First I have to ask if you have a Key field for the table your form is based on. I'm assuming you do. Create a new form that shows the memo field and your Key field. You can make the key field not visible. Then add a button to the main form and the easiest thing is to let the wizard filter the new form to the record you're viewing. This is a good point where you might want to consider making the memo field it's own table. Since they take up a lot of space and you might not have a memo for each record, it could speed up the main form.

Thanks John,

That's a great idea! I never thought of removing the memo field from the table. Then the related table will make it easy with the button.

How are ya jdgreen . . . . .

Just a little heads up here.

[purple]A Memo takes up no more space that the text within it[/purple]. No text, [purple]no resources taken/used!.[/purple] This should ease its use where its thought 64K is alloted per record . . . .
