I have a customer with:
MICS 7.0
PRI with DID's
Call Pilot 3.0

They want the 2nd DID call to flash while on a call and go to voicemail if unanswered. I used to set Busy on DND to Y, but I tried this and the second DID gets a busy to the caller. The prime set of the target line is the set it rings on, but I also tried the prime set to be the vm dn. Same thing - busy signal to DID caller.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike

Before you changed the Busy on DND setting, did the second call go through?

Are the target lines assigned with 2 appearances?

To accomplish this for all of my phones I have set up in target line programming:
The target line to go to Prime if busy.. BUT instead of making the Voicemail DN the prime set, you make the extension that the target line appears on the prime set.
For example if the target line rings on extension 5500. Make DN 5500 the prime set in the target line programming.

Then I assign 2 intercom buttons and 2 ring only appearances of the target line to that extension (I.e. - DN 5500)

All DID calls to a busy set will then ring/flash on the second intercom line and than go to voicemail if not answered within the number of rings specified in the forward no answer field for that particular set.

If you need more appearances, just add more intercom buttons and more ring only appearances to that DN

The phone has 3 intercoms and the target line is ring only with 3 appearances. I didn't try to make the target line ifbusy:busy. Will this still give me as many calls as I have intercom keys for? I'll try it and let you know.
Before I change the DND on busy to Y, the second call did go through.

Yes, they will keep rolling over to as many appearances as you have.

I have mine setr to
If busy:to prime prime = same set as target line set

thanks AlquestTech for your help. I mis-read your reply. When I orginal tested I had TL if busy:prime set of the ext it's assign to ring to. This works fine for 2 calls at the same time until I changed the DND on Busy:Y under capablities for that set. Then the 2nd call got a busy signal - never hit the phone or the users vm.

I still can't get a 2nd DID to flash on the phone then go to vm (DND on busy doesn't work right). It flashes once then drops off the phone and the caller hears a busy.

The customer swears they had it working on a prevous norstar system, but the only thing I can think of was that it was analog DID trunks, maybe it works slightly different than PRI DID trunks?

You should not have it set for DND on busy
you should have it set for Busy to Prime and make the prime set the set that has the appearance of the DID/Target line

for example say target line 125 is the DID for set 5500.
Set target line BUSY to Prime and make prime set 5500
Target line 126 is DID for set 5501, set target line if busy to prime, make prime set 5501
etc etc etc.

I am running DID's on PRI and it works this way fine
This lets any call forwarding no answer and call forwarding busy use the sets (DN) settings, rather than the the line busy settings

You can also make the prime setr the voicemail DN (F985)
And it will work. Just make sure in station programming for that DN, you remove CFB.
