Getting ready for a new building and installing our first large local install of IP sets. Wiring contractor put some kind of plate with wall mount studs for the Nortel 2001 IP phone. However, there is not enough room behind phone to mount it with an Ethernet cable plugged in to the wall. Anyone else have suggestions?

Put the base plate backon upside down and use wall ancors to mount it.

The 2001 base is not like the 3902 base (another cheap poorly-designed piece of plastic). You can't turn over the 2001 base and mount the phone (there aren't mounting screw holes on it).

I think the wall mount base is the same as the one for the i2004's. We had to order these extra.

The i2001 has the wall mount stud holes already on the back of the phone.

I think I have a workaround by getting a Panduit IP wall plate, but then leaving the keystone jack floating in the wallbox (ie, I have to take the plate off to hook it up).

Do we build i2001 as i2002 in CS1000 Rls 4.5?

build it as i2001.

Also make a short patch-cord and leave the keystone floating is the method I've used in the past.
