I'm working on a big LAN an I would like to know how is it possible to boot up a PC from another place.
All PCs have a 3com 3C905C-TX.
There is a software including in Windows2000pro or resource kit ?

Wake on Lan is can only be used on computers that have been configured to go into sleep mode. It will not completely power it up. If you want that option you need something like a Remote Insight Board. This board is basically a computer/webserver with its own power supply and network connection. You can litterly power on the computer with a virtual power switch.

I know sells them, and they are the cheapest I've seen.

The Intel Pro NICs and motherboards that I use have true wake-on-lan capabilities. There is a cable that connects the NIC to the motherboard to provide power to the NIC when the PC is powered down. The NIC is hot as long as the power cable is plugged into the PC's power supply and an electrical outlet. All 900 of my workstations can be powered on remotely via downloaded freeware(search for "Wake on LAN" or "Magic Packet"). All you need is the MAC address and voila!

(btw...you can power them down remotely also)
