3COM net. card on desktop W2K Prof
I have configured TCP/IP with class C addresses,
I have client for Windows networking on both,
I have file and printer sharing on both,
I even have NetBEUI on both.

I can see both compers on my W2K machine, but canot access the laptop (error: network path is not available)
I can not see the desktop - from my laptop
The coputers both have same Workgroup name "GAMMA"
IP of laptop 192.168.0.1
IP of desktop 192.168.0.2
stuff is shared
cable is tested and working,
100MBPS conection lights on the ethernet addapters of the 2 machines are green, thus - working...
YET NETWORKING DOES NOT HAPPEN Good luck,
Kuzz

Have you set up matching accounts (both username AND password) on each machine? If not you'll need to do so.

And How will i be logging in afterwords
Good luck,
Kuzz
