Hi there, I am experiencing problems with W95 client machines accessing a new AD structure I have just implemented within my business.
I am aware that windows 95 machines are not compliant with W2K GPO but was wondering if anyone had any experience of joining and getting w95 client machines to connect to a domain and the directory structure based on a KixScript.
I was thinking it may be possible by specifying the login script from the user profile tab, then login script and in here pointing the profile at a specific KixScript?
Thanks

Right,

I have taken a look on the domain controller and the and the NETLOGON share is pointing to:

c:\winnt\sysvol\sysvol (I did not set this up).

Within the last sysvol\ directory there are two other subdirectories sysvol\domainname and sysvol\domainname\scripts.

Within this scripts folder I have placed all of the Kix files suggested and on the user account within AD have specified the login script that the user should use. Within the box I have only named the batch file and not the full location of the batch file? Do I need to specify this?

As it is as the moment I am still unable to connect to the W2K shares?

Any ideas? Thanks

I have now moved the kix files into the actual root of the share set up on the server.

c:\winnt\sysvol\sysvol\.................

Now when I attempt to login using W95 client machine I am getting an error message that reads 'Script error: failed to find/open script!."

I have renamed the script to livscript (limitations of windows and have changed the bath file to reflect this change?

Anything else I should do?

just do this:
at the run prompt type
\\name of DC\netlogon

if all the files are right there, you should be fine.

you don't have to specify a path, just the name of the script, the bat file.
the bat file references the kix file, which is sitting in the same directory.

When I type this command a window appears. The title of the windpw is netlogon on domaincontroller.

Within this window the files:

kix32.exe
kx16.dll
kx32.dll
kx95.dll
livscript.bat
livscript.kix
wkix32.exe

exist.

Still does not work? When I attempt to login it says it is unable to find/open login script?

the batch file reads

%0\..\kix32 livscript.kix

???????????????
