Has anyone run into this? (Major network grief with XP Pro SP1 on W2K Server). I tripped across it as I was going to roll out a bunch of XP Pro machines with SP1 on them.

It sounds pretty bad. I have not been able to find the Q329170 (fix for W2K server) document, but I did find Q331519 (the workaround - sounds like a bit of a hack).

I have heard of this, in this very forum. I believe the fix was disable smb, but I could be wrong as I don't use xp, so I haven't encountered the problem myself. Might just want to stay away from sp1. Good luck. Glen A. Johnson

I wound up uninstalling SP1 on the image machine I was building - makes me shudder to think that I was going to roll a bunch out like that. The workaround (Q331519) is to disable packet signing for SMB at the server (which is a security feature). There is supposed to be a server side fix (Q329170) - that was the doc I can't find. Guess I will hold off on SP1 until I hear otherwise.
