W2K Server setup can't find any hard disks

Hi everyone, just so you know I'm mostly a programmer so if any of this sounds plain stupid, it's because I'm out of my element.

I have a pretty old box that I need to get up and running again. It is a SAG (manufacturer?), with 6 35-GB disks setup RAID-5. I'm not very familiar with this, but I think I set that up fine.

I pop in the W2K disk and choose a new W2K install and I get "setup cannot find any hard disks". Right off the bat I'm thinking... "SCSI\RAID\CONTROLLER driver?". This box has been out of service a good while and the powers-that-be don't know where the drivers are. Joy.

So, my question is: Sound like a driver thing to you? How can I find out what hardware I should go looking for a driver for? The only thing I notice that *might* be it is "Adaptec AIC-7899" so I found a driver for it, loaded, but no dice... still "no disks".

So, can you help me out? Like I said, I'm a programmer... the machines are generally working by the time I do my thing :)

At the beginning of the Windows 2000 Setup there's an option to press F6 to install third party SCSI drivers. You'll need to obtain the correct driver from the manufacturer.

Yeah, I got to that point... but I can't find a manufacturer SAG anywhere... any idea how I can determine what driver I need?

Sounds like you need to open up the case and get the manufacturer/model# off of the RAID card itself.

While it is booting you should be able to see a message on the screen from the bios of the raid card saying what it is.......
