Hi there
I have a W2K print server with a Xerox Colorseries 50 printer using lpr ports. When I connect to this driver using W2K clients it works fine although when I use an NT4 client the settings don't follow what the server is set to! ie if you change a banner sheet from off to on on the server the client on W2K reproduces this although other Lexmark ,HP and even Xerox printers on this server work fine with both client types.
Can u help!!

I see the same type of problems going the other way. (2k client to NT server) Try loading the NT specific driver locally on one of the NT workstations and select the LPR port. If this does not work go back to the manufacturer.

This might be a pointless reply, but have you tried adding additional drivers to your printer(i.e. the nt4.0 driver) if these two drivers are different??

The manufacturer might have a different set for both 2000 clients and nt4.

Just a thought.......

I have had the same issues. Luckily, all of our network printers are HPs. HP has drivers that are compatible with nt4 or 2000. By loading this one driver, you handle both. You can also add additional drivers to existing network share: RT-click Properties, Sharing Tab, Additional Drivers button.
