Just loaded W2K Adv. Srvr on a Dell 2550 Power Edge(which shouldn't matter), and followed it up by loading the SP3. When I did a reboot, I got a NTLDR not found message. How and why would that corrupt the boot sector. Please help.
Please excuse a stupid question, but I've done this myself. Is there a floppy still in the server? Glen A. Johnson

Haaaaa, no there isn't. There is nothing in the floppy drive or cd-rom. I re-loaded it and so far everything is cool, but I was wondering if it happened to anyone else and if they figured out why it did that.
Whenever you install something such as a Service Pack there is always a possiblity of corruption (which is why Microsoft suggests backing up before you do anything).
I have often wondered if the people at MS backup their systems before they go to the bathroom.
The service pack does make some changes to how W2K boots and operates so it is possible that it was making some changes to your NTLDR and didn't make them correctly corrupting it. CJ

Glad things are working for you. Wish MS could fix hfnetchk so that when you ran it, it wouldn's look at everything in the regestry, only things you have loaded. There a multiple patches it tells me I need, but I'm not using. Why would I patch Exchange when I'm not using it?
