On my W2k3 Server box on a different domain, I have the ability to turn off security center on xp sp2 machines, along with a bunch of xp policies.

My W2K server does not have these options.

Any one know where I can download them and the procedure on installation?

Thanks,

Those settings are all stored in the Administrative Templates.

Copy the ADM files from your Win2K3 server over to the Win2K box. You will find them in the INF folder of Windows.

You may get an error on your Win2K box when you go to edit a policy, something to the affect of [string] too long. If so, follow this link.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark

I copied the files from w2k3 server c:\winnt\inf\*.adm to w2k server c:\winnt\inf\ overwrite existing files.

Did not work, any other suggestions? Is there a website (microsoft?) that I can just download and import into the ad users and compters snap-in?

Remove the System template and re-add it for the changes to be applied to an existing GPO or create new GPO.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark

I figured it out. You have to connect to the Windows server 2000 machine via a service pack 2 xp machine using the mmc snap in.
