Have a mix of w2000/w98/w95 in a peer-to-peer environment where there are shared folders. My problem lies with the w2000 machine. When booting up it asks for the password for each shared folder that it connects to. It does this each and every time. It's not remembering the passwords. I have found no place where a little Remember Password check box exists like on w98/w95. Suggestions anyone?

I believe this is because the "Share" password is different than your 2k password. But I'm not sure.

Just a suggestion—Do a file search for all files with the extension “pwl” (without the quotes.)

These are the password files. Delete them, (you can reassign the passwords later,) reboot and see if you are asked for any password.

Additionally, in W2K, in the control panel, there is an icon for “users/passwords” that you can work with, providing you are logged into W2K with Admin rights.

SRFlanigan - Thanks, I'll try the first. As far as the second suggestion, already looked into that with no luck.
