I am currently running a Windows 2000 Advanced Server with 8 Zeon 900Mhz CPU's with 4gb of RAM, this server also hosts MS SQL7 and has 4 internal 36.4gb Ultra 3 scsi HD's Mirrored & striped, also has an external Raid5 array fully populated with 14 36.4gb HD's supporting about 500 users, the problem I am getting is the server can be up for about a day and all of a sudden all 8 CPU's max out at 100%, I have by process of elimination stopped services one by one (only leaving the SQLServer service running) the processors stay at 100%, upon stopping SQLServer service CPU's dropped off, also my pagefile's are sat on my C<drive> and P<Drive> c = 48mb - 128mb p = 5048, what I am trying to find out is why my CPU's jump to 100% and what should my Pagefiles be and do they swap between to two. Also I have put SP4 for SQL on about 2 weeks ago, before then I didn't have this problem.
