Ok,

This one is bugging me. Anybody know how to exclude a file from "Prevent Internet Explorer from launching anything from the Downloaded Programs directory?"

I have an app that launches an install from the downloaded programs folder. I would like to have this rule on but by default it is too tough.

Stuff I have tried:
Added <filename>.exe to exclusion list for the blocking of port 80 (Needed to do this since the install downloads a couple of plugins.)
Added <filename>.exe to On demand exclusion. <- didn't really expect that one to work.

Anybody have any ideas?

Have you tried excluding the downloads folder?

Doh!!

Change the setting from blocking mode to warning mode, that should allow your program to execute but you will know about it.

Excluding the downloads folder doesn't help. I've been running in warning mode since ePo 3.5 and VSE 8.0 came out. I was looking to kick it over to block on a bunch of locked down PCs.

The program itself runs fine - it is just the install. I was trying to avoid telling the helpdesk how to disable VS / ePo if the program needed to be installed on a freshly imaged machine. Usually the machines are just reimaged if they have an issue. I just revamped all my images w/ this stupid app already installed so I don't think it will be an issue anyways.

Thanks for the ideas.
