Hi,
I`m researching into the setup of a VPN between my main office and a home using ADSL. If I could clarify a few of the basic concepts:
1) when I subscribe for the 2 ADSL connections, do I need 2 static public IP addresses? One for the home computer and the other for the office router?
2) Conceptually, how is a VPN established from the home to the office? The home computer contacts the office router using its public IP address. Then a password is required from the home computer?
3) I assume for security purposes, its necessary to configue my office router to only accept packets from the public IP address of my home computer and to forward these packets to my RAS? Is it easy to "IP spoof" around this security?
4) In general, what is the difference between PPTP and PPTPoE?
Thanks in advance for any info.
Danny
