I am having trouble loading the VPN Remote Phone software on to the 5610. According to the TFTP Log it loads the following files.
46xxupgrade.scr
46xxvpn.scr
46xxsettings.txt

According to the 46xxvpn.scr file there isn't an path for the 5610 phone.

Has anyone successfully loaded this file to a 5610 set? If so how. Thanks in advance.

I had a devil of time myself first setting this up. It took a couple of calls and some effort to get the phone to take the load for the VPN client. This is what I had to do.

1,dl this to start from avaya's site. VPNremote for the 4600 Series
IP Telephones
Release 2.0
Administrator Guide

2,While you are there go ahead and dl this file also. IPOffice_56xx_46xx_vpn You can find it on their site.

3,Upgrade your switch to at least 4.0. You can get this there too.

The manual will go over the key sequence to int the load but the upgrade and files from above must be loaded first. Good luck and wait till you have to connect the thing to a fw somewhere.

Thanks

Can you tell me wher ei can download IPOffice_56xx_46xx_vpn.zip? i cannot find it on Avaya's site. We are currently using 46xx phones and are bought new 5610 phones.

Check the 46xxupgrade.scr file for the following code. If it is not present place it at the beginning.

IF $GROUP SEQ 876 GOTO DEFVPN
GOTO NOVPN
# DEFVPN
GET 46xxvpn.scr
# NOVPN

Check to make sure that 46xxvpn.scr exists. (it should)
To install the VPN firmware, the telephone must first register with the IP Office as a non-VPN telephone. Once it is registered with an extension then you must modify the Group to 876 by pressing the following key sequence on the telephone keypad

MUTE 4 7 6 8 7 #
8 7 6 # #
MUTE 7 3 7 3 8 # * #

When the telephone reboots, the 46xxupgrade.scr script file will direct the telephone to upgrade to the VPN firmware.
