Ok not sure if this is even possible but....

My employer has requested that he be able to connect to the SQL database from home. I'm not sure if this is even possible since I'm so new to VPNs.

We're currently running Win2k servers with AD. The SQL server is SQL 2000. If connecting to the VPN I have access to the network shares and can print, that much I've got working. However I get errors about named pipes when trying to access the database. (Sorry I'm onsite and dont have captures of the error screens).

I was wondering if its possible to access a SQL 2000 database through the Microsoft VPN solution?

Thank you for any insite on this.

Did you consider running terminal server instead of a vpn. This works very well!
