i'm using RRAS service on win 2003 service for accesing local network over VPN. It worked fine but i'm experiencing some troubles now.
Application event log is full of this error:
Source: userenv, eventID 1053
Windows cannot determine the user or computer name. (The specified user does not exist. ). Group Policy processing aborted.
I tried few hints from help
- gpupdate, domain controller CAN be contacted through Domain Name System (DNS), i CAN access the domain controller by using tools such as the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in. No other computers in network has this problem (2 more w2k servers and 10 XP workstations),
it is only one domain here.
I'm not sure if this is connected to troubles i have with VPN now, i can ping the server, try to connect but after moment, when server is checking usrname etc. i get message that remote computer doesn't respond.
for being it more trickym this happens usually when i try to connect through VPN from notebook over phone and gprs i-net provider. Unexpectedly VPN does work from my home, where i use dial-up for accessing internet.
Have you had any ideas, i'd be thankfull.
