My current set up is a desktop home PC and a work laptop which both connect to a Bellsouth DSL connection. Both computers are connected to a Westell DSL Modem via a Linksys 4 port hub.

Both computers can browse the internet but my home PC browses the Net much slower. My work PC uses a Nortel VPN client to establish an IPSec session so I can log onto the corporte WAN. Does the VPN Client hog all the bandwidth which causes my home PC to be slow?

Thanks, Bill

It's possible that something is causing high outbound bandwidth usage on your vpn connection, which in turn congests your upload bandwidth, which in turn causes your download bandwidth to reduce dramatically, because basically the dns and http requests your browsing pc is sending can only trickle out to the internet.
