I setup Windows SBS 2003 and then Routing and remote access at work. I set the Actiontec router to forward port 1723 and GRE 47 to the the server local IP address. I was able to VPN and Remote Desktop Connection from home into the server. Everything worked great. Then I ran Windows update remotely which required a restart. I used the shutdown command with restart option with a delay of 60 seconds to get out of remote desktop connection.
Now I can't establish a VPN - error 800. The same thing happened last week after restarting the computer remotely.
In both cases I confirmed with a phone call that the server was running.
So there is something about restarting a computer remotely. How can I fix it? How am I supposed to do a remote restart through a VPN connection?
Thanks.
